Got 30 minutes a day? That’s all you need to learn a language. Guaranteed.
- If you learn languages as a hobby but think you need full-time commitment to learn them...
- Or if you're picking up a new language for the first time even though you might think it's a bit late...
- And you want to learn languages more efficiently because of time constraints...
First off, let's make things clear:
I do not teach languages on this blog.
I am a language teacher. I've got more years under my belt in this business than I would like to admit to. And I've seen a lot.
And I know you can learn a language by investing only 30 minutes a day.
You see, you'll find lots of advice online, often from professional language learners.
But that’s not me.
I am a language teacher, but before being a teacher I used to be a blue-collar worker. I used to spend two hours a day in commuting. Whatever I had to do before, it had to be efficient.
I'm a language teacher now, but I started as a blue-collar worker with a two-hour daily commute. And that was working the night shift. I learned to be efficient with my time.
Internet polyglots give good advice - if you have endless time.
Most of us don't.
If you're like me, an adult with a family to support, friendships to nurture, a community to mingle in, and places to go, you don't have the time to make language learning your full-time endeavor.
But you still like learning languages. And you want a more realistic approach to it.
And that's what you'll find here.
This blog is full of advice for my students. It answers their questions without taking up lesson time. Here, you'll find my thoughts on effective language learning strategies.
I want to help you learn languages more efficiently, more effectively, without waste.
As I said, I have tons of advice.
My top one?
Pick one or two strategies that work for you. Use them. Then you can come back and tell me how it went.
You don't need to learn all the strategies and tactics to learn a language.
All you need is a good idea. One specific tactic. And then you're good to go.
